About Greene Towne School
Faculty & Staff
We are excited to introduce our staff at Greene Towne School, a Montessori school serving 128 toddler and primary students with 32 faculty and staff members. Our teachers know that they make a difference. All lead teachers hold Montessori certifications from the American Montessori Society (AMS) or the American Montessori International (AMI). With over a century of experience among them, teachers, assistants, specialists and administration focus on our mission—to provide a Montessori environment, to develop each child’s full human potential and to meet the diverse needs of our families. Assisting your child to step into the future is our business.
Music Enrichment John Broomall
For over 30 years John Broomall, a music teacher and music therapist, has led Greene Towne students in an early exploration of rhythm and music. Each Wednesday, the children eagerly await Mr. Broomall’s arrival and their turn to go to music. John has studied music theory, percussion, education, historic performance and psychology. John has been instrumental in assisting arts-based grants for Greene Towne.
Movement Enrichment Andi Wingert
Andi has been a part of Greene Towne School for 13 years, heading up our after-noon playgroup program for 10 years and taking on the movement class 5 years ago. Andi has also worked at the old Tenth Presbyterian Pre-school and was, for several years, a Little People’s Music Teacher.
When not welcoming our young students or leading them in movement activities, Andi enjoys gardening, reading and kayaking.
Art Teacher Emily Grant
Emily is originally from London, and obtained her BA there in Ceramics. She moved to the United States in 1998 and received her MFA Fine Art Degree from Cranbrook Art Academy in Detroit. She met her husband in 2000, and moved to Philadelphia in 2001.
In her free time, Emily enjoys working on her house, reading, making stuff, gardening, and spending time with her friends. Congrats to Emily for the new addition to her family!
